Today was one of those days. I had a really tough workout in store for myself. I did it last week and liked it but it was hard and I needed some motivation and just couldn't find it. I actually even started the workout and called it quits like 5 minutes in. I put my equipment away and went home....to take a nap.
When I walked in the door, my wife was getting dressed to go (guess where?) the gym. I grabbed an apple and laid down on the couch to take my nap. She said, "Hey why don't you come with me and workout? You'll feel much better if you do!" Originally I declined, but after thinking about it, I grabbed my shoes and headed back to the gym. Once I was there, with her I got through my workout and actually enjoyed it. She was great company and provided the support and motivation I needed to get my workout in. Thanks!
Speaking of workouts.....here are some new circuits for you to try this week!
Circuit #1 - Perform 60 seconds of each exercise. Resting 60 seconds between circuits. Perform 3-5 rounds.
Pull-ups
Squats
SB Pushups/Kneetucks
SB Leg Curls
Circuit #2 - Perform 15 seconds on/15 seconds off for 5 minutes of each exercise. Rest as needed between exercises.
DB 1 arm Squat/Press (alternate between Left/Right)
DB 1 arm Woodchops (Right/Left)
Lunges
Situps/Russian Twist
Give these a shot. They aren't easy but they are effective. If you can't find the motivation, find a friend to do the circuit with you. Better yet, come to one of our bootcamp sessions, there's always motivation there!
